Nanaue's mother is warned to never feed him meat as a small child, but when his grandfather gives him the taste of it, Nanaue finds it difficult to curb his hunger for flesh.

The Ka‘ena Aloha Series contain eight traditional Hawaiian legends stories about the Wai‘anae coast on the island of O'ahu told in photographic depiction. Each story features photographers and models from their respective moku who all donated their time and work to recreate the lost stories of ancient Hawai‘i.
